I don't think it takes 4 hours for an artist to fully elevate himself to his/her best performance level.
This is not the capability of his/her performance for that extended period of time we are talking about, it's about what's he/she perceives is best for himself/herself.
I honestly feel that if a person cannot showcase talent and/or skill in a mere 2 hours, 4 hours might make an even worse impression, considering the fact that people nowadays don't have all the time in the world to appreciate classical music. Sure, it's a classic case of suppression of one's brilliance, but that's the kind of world we live in.
Btw, I was sampling Mathirakshi on last.fm. Where can I buy the CD? :)
